18.3 here, too, and mostly cloudy with it. As usual it's calm and muggy, with a 17.5 dewpoint. There was 0.4mm of rain overnight.

The overnight low was 17.2 (4C above average) and yesterday's high was 24.4 (a degree above average).

Rain last night, nothing that heavy but enough for puddles and enough to wash the chalk graffiti off the pavement outside.

Welcome is an understatement for me. More please Sir.

Quite strong southerly winds though in the 18.3C temps.

After a drier spell, there was some very heavy rain here yesterday afternoon which cleared away in the evening to let it mostly cloudy.

Meanwhile, today has started off on a mostly cloudy note with occasional sunny intervals at times but for now, it’s still dry as I write.

Currently a very humid and muggy 19°C here in Hawick.

Well my weekend in Nottinghamshire with the family has been pretty much ruined. Rain all day yesterday at the village show, 18 C.....we were soaked

Rain all day today so far and becoming heavier now....picnic in the park cancelled, only 17 C

Back to Edinburgh tomorrow amid a heavy rain and thunderstorm warning......summer has vanished!!

Just watched the novelty of a moderate to heavy rain shower fall on leaves, lawn sic and soil. Late to the party I know and I'm sure I will become annoyed by it in due course. But for now after such a long dry spell here. Bliss.

Been dull with occasional moderate rain all morning and up to now (6.6 mm so far), but sun should be breaking through very soon. 17 C. Looks like frequent showers running in from Channel tonight.

Autumn has arrived early this year. 😃 Now I sounded like Moomin for a moment there.

Watched the All-Ireland hurling final - Tipp vs Cork while the rain was pounding down this afternoon. Great match BTW. Afterwards went up to lock the church about 5.15pm by which time it was clear. A retired farmer neighbour who keeps meticulous records says we had 20mm today yesterday. No thunder.

Cloudy, calm, light rain following a wet (and rather warm) night.

It's 15.8, dew 14.8, and the overnight low was 15.2. Yesterday was remarkable in terms of the temperature for the morning and early afternoon, it's rare to see a temperature of 18.1 at 1PM on a mid-July day! The skies cleared a bit later and it shot up to 23.0C, so around average in the end.

There's been 12.8mm of rain so far today, a useful amount.

A min of 10.2c certainly had a fresher feel and a bit of condensation on the outside of the windows, which was a novelty.

Dry, clouds breaking up now and 14.6c

Incredibly dull all day with that 'heavens about to open' look, but dry, breezy and warm. About 17c with humiidty in the low 90s.

Interesting journey from Notts to Edinburgh on the train. Mostly sunny, thick haar around Holy Island. Big CuNimbs in all directions.

Out into central Edinburgh, it felt quite steamy at 23 C, the city is crowded pre Festival and Princes St Gardens were full of sun worshippers!

Caught the bus up to Blackford and into an intense sudden downpour. It's already died away. Don't think it made it any further into the city. My neighbour heard a couple of rumbles

Sunny spells, most of the heavy showers all over Kent are mostly bypassing my location but am getting to see cumulonimbus-laden skies. 20.1 C & mid-80% H.

Well it certainly felt fresher given the lower DP today (albeit that still reached 17c), the forecast rain never materialised and the high of 24.3c was still a little over average - would have been one of those "useable" days if I wasn't working... mustn't grumble!!
