Following on from the 'guess the first date 30°C will be recorded' competition, I’ve decided to run another one, this time to see who can most accurately predict the lowest officially recorded temperature in the UK between now and the end of 2025. So the actual question is:
What will be the lowest temperature, to the nearest tenth of a degree, officially recorded (UK Met Office approved) in the UK between now and 31 December 2025?
Rules:
1. Submit your guess in this thread as a single temperature in °C, to one decimal place (e.g. -14.7°C)
2. Only one entry per person
3. Entries can be submitted at any time
4. The winner will be the person whose guess is closest to the actual lowest temperature officially recorded in the UK by the Met Office between the date of this post and 31 December 2025, inclusive
5. If two or more entries are equally close, the earliest submitted entry will be declared the winner
6. Entries that have been edited will not be accepted
