When is it happening. Obviously I am not going to look at the sun, but will i notice a drop in light?

No, not enough of it is obscured. Unless you have a solar filter for a camera or eclipse glasses, you won't notice much. If you have those, you'll see a bite taken out of about a third of the Sun's disc.

From what I heard on the BBC earlier it seems like next year could be more interesting with an almost total eclipse.


At least it will be mild!

ok thanks. I havent noticed my neighbours looking up or taking any interest and they have primary aged kids. So perhaps not many are that bothered.

I've seen most of it here so far, but thicker cloud is moving in now.

Light cloud... Solarscope up and focused. Working OK. Eclipse glasses to hand. Now, is it too early for a beer? 🥃

I think I saw the pin hole, multiple crescents, effect via a evergreen hedge and the car luckily parked the right distance away. Well, no, I did but I had thought it was just seen near to totality.
