Here in Edinburgh, the temperature is now up to around 4°C. Given that we're not yet into the actual meteorological winter, that is still quite cold for this time of the year but today is slightly milder than yesterday, thus continuing the day to day slow warming trend which appears to underway at the moment in this part of the world.

Meanwhile, there is still some medium to high level cloud around but we are now also seeing a lot more in the way of sunshine.

It was the coldest night so far down to-4C here at 130m asl which i am at the top of the hill area so likely down to -6 o -7C at valley areas.  Frost stayed in the shade all day, few patches of snow not hit by the sun.   Not sure yesterday morning min as I did not put the sensor but the conservatory was 0.3C to 21.2C to -0.5C this morning to barely reach 19.5c the lowest max under full sun.  I think must be around -3C here outside yesterday and above freezing during the day.

Should be a proper cold one tonight. Sun has just set beautifully over the fields and the thermometer is back below zero. Last night was spoiled by cloud from the front to the south but clear skies now

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank is officially confirmed as 5.1°C, so today has been a bit milder than of late.

The skies appear to be fairly clear just now as I write and the wind appears to have died down a bit, yet the temperatures are now refusing to drop and remain stuck at around 1°C here in Edinburgh as I write.😡

Not as cold as one might expect. Clear sky. Minus 0.6C here with light westerly winds.

Technically a penetrating frost which is unusual with winds from this direction.

Enough chill if that is the correct term, to keep the remaining snow cover in place until the sun rises.

Partly cloudy and breezy, with some recent bits and pieces of light rain (not enough to tip the gauge).

It's less cold than yesterday and indeed the current temperature (3.6, dew 0.3) isn't far off yesterday's high (which was 3.8 - another cold day). There was a very brief slight but penetrating air frost again yesterday evening, with the overnight low being -0.1.

Dropped to -4c when I checked last night but up to 2c now. Didn't feel like it was so much 'warmer' when I woke up this morning as there was a nasty breeze creeping through the (slightly) open window

Following a very late dip in the temperatures, this morning has started off on a cold and frosty note once again.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was -1.8°C and once again, this means that last night wasn't quite as cold as the previous night but even with that, an official air frost was still recorded at all three of my local stations.

This has brought about a bright start to today with plenty of sunshine although there is still some cloud around.

Currently around +2°C here in Edinburgh.

A milder day - up to 6C having steadily risen from a minimum of -0.9C at 6pm yesterday evening. Of course feels colder with the strong wind. Forecasts for here have been dire of late and they keep completely missing the main feature of the weather for a particular day even at 12 hrs notice.

Been a day of good sunny spells after a slight frost. While temps peaked at the lofty heights of 7.3 C, the brisk NW breeze kept it feeling cold. Still was relatively nice before it'll turn rubbish and tiresome over the weekend.

And a bit of old Kentish weather lore - my old gran used to say "three frosts and it wets itself", and it's probably going to be true this time.  I guess a brief cold snap in November isn't that unusual!

0.5c, clear and icy again.

4.6c high today, higher than expected, meant snow cover further diminished. Still patches left in the garden and on roofs/raised surfaces.  Let's see what tomorrow morning brings, at best 2-3 hours of snow.

Today was slightly colder than yesterday here but not by much as today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 4.5°C with a total of 2.9 hours of sunshine being recorded there for today in the end.

The temperatures are now slowly and gradually falling away once again and as I write, the temperature is around 0°C here in Edinburgh.

With that, we will probably go on to get another air frost although that hasn't quite happened just yet but I would imagine that this will probably now be our last cold night before Storm Bert results in that being it for our "winter" (at least for now).

Just before 'Bert' arrives a quick mention that my local weather station in south Edinburgh (Swanston) has recorded only 3.5mm of rain in November up to this morning (22nd).

I'm on the train back to Edinburgh after a day visit to see my daughters in snowy Nottingham. They still have 3-5 cm, the 5th day of snow lying. 3cm at 50m altitude today, 5cm at 110m.

In Edinburgh, although a sunny week with no snow my minimum temps since Monday have been

-5

-5.5

-3 this morning

Looks like it is already -3 at 21:30 in Edinburgh and reports of -15 C in the Highlands

A decent frost last night, the coldest of the three nights of the cold snap. The low was -1.1 at 1 AM, but since then it's steadily warmed, now up to 3.0, dew 1.7.

Yesterday's high was 6.9.
