Not the biggie, the Samaria gorge, which I thought too strenuous, but one nearby - the Imbros gorge which was almost as spectacular.

Not consciously - and General Kreipe who Fermor kidnapped was smuggled out to Egypt from a beach a dozen miles east of the Imbros Gorge in the photos.
