Right on cue the weather has turned dry, sunny and very warm with temperatures riding into the mid-twenties Celsius. Make the most of the next day or two the a breakdown to the fine weather is on the way. Heavy showers and thunderstorms tomorrow will herald a return or cooler/wetter weather from Monday onwards.
Saturday morning has been dry and sunny in all areas though there have been one or two light showers to the north of Scotland. This afternoon will keep the fine weather with nearly all places looking dry. There will be long sunny spells and temperatures will be very warm. Watch out for a few scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms across Scotland and the far north east of England. Temperatures will range from 18C to 24C.
Overnight, any remaining showers in the north will die out and all places will stay dry with clear spells and variable cloud. It will be a very mild or warm night with temperatures of 8C to 15C.
Sunday starts mostly dry, sunny and warm. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will break out in central, northern and western regions during the afternoon and evening though southern counties should stay mostly dry. Some of the showers and storms could be torrential with a risk of localized flooding in places. Temperatures will be very warm and humid at 20C to 27C (68F to 81F)
Heavy showers and thunderstorms will rumble on through Sunday night in northern regions but should finally die out by Monday morning. More heavy showers are likely across Scotland on Monday afternoon as more general cloud and rain arrives across Ireland, England and Wales by evening. Temperatures range from 16C to 23C.
Wet weather pushes northeastwards across the country on Monday night with the band of rain lasting all day through Northern Ireland, northern England and East Anglia on Tuesday. On either side, most places should stay dry with sunny spells and a few scattered showers. Temperatures will be cooler but still warm at 14C to 21C.
Low pressure sits to the south west of the country on Wednesday. We'll have a mix of sunny spells but also scattered, heavy and possibly thundery showers. Temperatures 15C to 21C.
A shallow trough of low pressure will continue to sit close to us through Thursday and Friday. There will be dry and warm weather at times but watch out for the risk of heavy, thundery showers too, especially for England and Wales. Temperatures will return close to average at 13C to 18C.
Next weekend probably remains rather showery with low pressure never too far away. Temperatures continue to look quite cool.
