The weather remains unsettled! Low pressure is giving us a little bit of a reprieve this Easter but will be back with is by Easter Monday. Next week is looking very unsettled with even more rain to come. The deluge continues...
Saturday morning has seen a mix of sunny spells and showers. England and Wales have been mostly dry with sunny spells. Scotland, Northern Ireland and south west England have had showers. This afternoon will see a scattering of showers across the country but the most frequent showers will remain in the north and west while southern and eastern regions tend to be drier though some rain could clip the East Anglian coast. Temperatures range from 7C to 14C.
Overnight, showers die out and most places become dry with clear spells and variable cloud. A few showers are possible for Northern Ireland and south west England. There could be some dense mist and fog patches in the east. Temperatures will be quite cold tonight -1C to 5C. Watch out for frost and icy patches in central and northern regions.
Easter Sunday starts mostly dry with sunny spells once any early mist and fog patches have cleared away. Cloud will thicken in the south and east to bring some afternoon showers along with a freshening eastern wind. Scotland and Northern Ireland will have the best of the sunny spells but there could be some scattered showers. Temperatures range from 8C on the east coast to 13C across western Scotland. It will feel quite cold in the east as the wind freshens. Watch out for heavy rain arriving in the south east on Sunday evening.
Bank Holiday Monday will find low pressure taking over from the south.
England and Wales will have a dull and wet start with heavy rain in places. The wet weather will push northwards into northern England and Northern Ireland later in the day but further heavy showers are likely for England and Wales as skies brighten up. Scotland should have a mostly dry day with sunny spells. Temperatures will be cold at just 5C to 10C. Way below the early April average.
A trough of low pressure remains over the country on Tuesday. The more persistent rain should die out on Monday night but more showers are likely on Tuesday and some of them could be heavy with hail and thunder. The frequent showers are likely in the south while in the north the showers should be more scattered. Temperatures range from 7C to 14C.
The next area of low pressure moves in from the Atlantic on Wednesday. The day will start on a very wet note for England and Wales with the wet weather pushing northwards to southern Scotland and Northern Ireland later in the day. The rain could turn to snow on high ground of southern Scotland. Central and northern Scotland remain dry while southern regions become drier but still have heavy showers. Another cold day, especially in the north with temperatures of just 1C to 6C are likely. Further south we should reach 8C to 14C.
More low pressure heads in from the Atlantic on Thursday. England and Wales could have a thoroughly wet day with heavy rain pushing northwards. Scotland and Northern Ireland have a mix of sunny spells and showers. Temperatures of 4C to 12C will feel cold under the persistent rain.
Friday could bring a break in the unsettled weather with most places tending to have a dry day. There should be plenty of bright or sunny spells but scattered showers are likely too. Temperatures 5C to 15C.
