We all knew for a while that every prediction was too low, as occurred in  June.

So congratulations to Snowshoe who is the closest with a prediction of 16.6c.

Similar to the winter of 2019/20 but at the opposite end of the year and with a tighter spread over one less month. Every month from November 2019 to March 2020 was between 5.7c and 6.8c.

Where is mine? 😕

I placed a prediction of 16.2C on 28 Aug at 10:21:13 (I have a screenshot to prove this). Presumably, it's must have been more than 11.66! 😲

Anyway, well done Bolty. 👍 🙂

The only time I can find it happening before is 1890. That was with a September anomaly of 14.6°C, but a very cold summer.

Jun: 13.5
Jul:  14.5
Aug: 14.1
Sep:  14.6

The benefit of having nothing to lose. Still surprised I came closest -  but still out by 0.4°C.

You are in the monthly competition but your 16.2c was only second best, beaten by Snowshoes 16.6c.

The table is the annual competition cumulative errors after 9 months; which you are not in as you only joined the competion in July.

Indeed. I went high for October and if there is a rapid cool down mid-month, like the models are suggesting, then I may not have the lead for long. 😂

With how topsy-turvy this year has been, it's still anyone in the top 10's game at the moment.

Yes, the warmest September CET ever recorded and the first ever time that the CET has been 16C+ for 4 consecutive months.
The June to September period was the 2nd warmest ever recorded with an average of 16.63C. 2006 was the warmest at 17.18C so quite a big gap there.
7 of the 20 warmest June to September periods have been in the 21st century. 5 of those have been in the last 8 years!

Wouldn't it be nice to set a cold record instead? Fat chance of that, though!

Can't see many days in any month higher than the 23.3 of 7th September. Highest of any September.
