A solid 11mm today and still not quite done, much better than 10mm in 10 minutes. 33mm for the month and 314mm for the year about 50% normal.

Despite the dry start with only 15.0mm in the first 13 days, it's dengeneraing into yet another hideously wet and depressing October with 45.4mm since the 14th  Yet again as soon as the schools go on holiday the weather takes a turn for the worse. God knows how anyone thought two weeks school holiday in October was a good idea. Was only ever one week when I was at school and the October weather back then was no where near as dire as it is now.

That's now 14 consecutive years that the October rainfall has exceeded 50mm when during the 20th Century you could expect on average 1 in 4 Octobers to have less than 50mm. A case of enjoyable crisp autumn days replaced by rank soggy mild wet filth year-after-year

Up to 198.6mm for the revolting washout autumn so far. That's 30mm more than at the same stage of last years vile autumn which turned out to be the wettest since 2009  In fact even 2009 had only 194mm at this point so there can't be many autumns to have racked up so much rain at this stage.

Truly at the end of my thether with the endless horrific rubbish that's thrown at us year-after-year. I've now recorded four consecutive autumns in which one month has had at least 130mm. Can't find another run like this going back to the 1850s just a couple of instances of three in a row during the late 19th Century.

Absolutely shocking

Was that mostly in an hour or spread evenly across the whole day Ulric??

I haven't managed to get the time to set up MX, so still on the old version but it serves me well, so no rush to upgrade as yet.

It's felt really rainy here this month. We've not had 2 consecutive dry days (and even single ones have been rare)
