Interesting to see that Aboyne recorded the highest max in Scotland today at 31.3°C.

Apart from being a record for Aboyne what also makes it interesting is that it is nowhere near the amber heat warning area in Scotland.

Our hot tub is set to 'tepid'

Currently sat in it up to my chin(s), posting on here, with a nice cold Bud.

Think I'll probably have a final, pre-bedtime dip later, too.

Sister came for a dip as well!

Phoenix Park in Dublin recorded it's highest max on record today, and this station's data goes back to the early 1800s.

Temperature records broken as Met Éireann establish new Climate Services Division - Met Éireann - The Irish Meteorological Service

Came close to breaking the all time highest national maxima, but just not quite close enough.

Anyone know where I can find official station records? I think there's a chance Langdon Bay, Dover record will fall tomorrow, from memory I think it's 35.7c from 2019. As I remember a late surge in front of a storm that rolled in. Remarkable as it is about a stone's throw from the sea and on top of Dover cliffs and very exposed.

So based on the raw data here are the highest maxima I could find (they seem to read to the hundredth of a degree!) - thanks to John in Edinburgh for the decoding tips!

Santon Downham 38.15C

Cavendish 37.86C

Cambridge NIAB 37.53C

Surely Santon Downham should go down as 38.2C? 🙂

So the maximin record is next up. Can someone explain the rules?

What does 'night' mean? Is it the lowest temp until 9am?

Same here in Central Devon in Okehampton.

Midnight temp was 24.5c and now it's 25.5c. So the temperature has actually risen during the night. Indoor temperature is now 28.0c so risen as well despite opening windows. Breeze has picked up at least but still....🙄

Just incredible heat. Fun from a meteorological perspective and weather enthusiast but terrible for sleeping!

I hope we break the all-time record high of 38.7c tomorrow (Tuesday!). We are so close!l7

Hope I'll sleep tonight and everyone else is/was able to get aome "shut eye!"😴

I got a clean hand towel dampened it in water and kept it in the fridge and took it out to cover my body...it's helping me cool down (a smidge!).
