Had similar this morning.

Pigeon  hit the French doors in the Garden Room at full flight speed.  Made me jump !

Didn't leave such a graphic imprint.  Unfortunately  the wretched vermin flew away -  depriving me of my pigeon breast and recurrent sauce supper.

Had a great walk in one of our local limewoods yesterday morning - lots of wood blewits about. Sadly I'm not a fan! Then in the afternoon we went to the old airfield near Woodhall Spa - the "other Dambusters" base - and saw a mighty starling murmuration. If you have a local starling roost site now's the time for visit it, but be there by 3.30pm when they usually start arriving. Spectacular sunset, spectacular moonrise. The home for a 3-fungi risotto! Perfection.
