2 or 3cm of lying snow here after yesterday evening's surprise event. The MetO got a small area yellow warning out covering the Central Belt half way through the event!
Temperature is 0.5 C and there's a light fog, some slight thawing going on.
The yellow warning expires at 0900 and the next yellow snow warning starts at 1500!

30mm rain in about 30 hours here in North Northumberland, now turning sleety

Heavy rain temp fallen 6c since 1700. Now down to 5.9c and apparently wet snow is now falling in DARTMOOR. Very heavy rain and outside the rain sounds icy. Is this evaporative cooling?
