I think we are going to see a lot more 6c+ winters now,in fact I would go so far as to say they will become the norm rather than the exeption and this winter could run the record very close.I don`t partake in the cet comp anymore but I rekon February could be 7c+.

I think you will be revising that thought as soon as next winter but TWT

Seems to be stuck on 7.73C. Is this definitely getting updated at the moment?

No, it's not. You can see here that there's no data since the 4th February.

Back from my hols and just catching up with the CET threads. So sorry to hear you’re not well GW and hope you are soon better.  It seems the Hadley data isn’t performing too well without you either.

It would appear to me, that this whole thing with Hadley just now is a total shambles!!

To me, whoever is responsible to compiling that data and then reporting it should be sacked immediately and replaced by someone who can actually do that job properly.

I hope Hadley sorts itself out. I've always liked their temperature services.

You should be careful about making assumptions when posting comments. Your presumption here is totally inaccurate. The person who is compiling the data can't compile data that is missing. See my post in the January thread.

Latest CET tracker for February. Looks like we will be back at around 7C by the end of the third week.

The winter CET is likely to continue to track upwards after a blip early next week. Looks like we could finish above 2006/7 and end up in 6th place. Looks highly likely now this will be one of the top 10 warmest CET winters on record.

Thanks everyone for your messages. I just had a bad cold but needed to take some time out. Now fully recovered.

It's a good job then, that I wasn't part of your CET competition for very long during last year, as I would have had a real problem as regards to being able to stick to its rules, and that is why I decided to leave that when I did.

However, I'm pleased that you're back in much better health once again. Bad colds are very common at this time of year even if we don't actually get a cold winter, and it can be a pain in the neck when they drag on for any length of time.

It's that feeling again of looking at the chart thinking the numbers on the y axis are absolute temperatures then realising they're actually anomalies!
