16.15hrs - we are back in a rain band - currently a moderate downpour. No thunder/lightning noted yet - tho I notice East Anglia is having a good dose of such activity.

No exaggeration to say some of the heaviest rain I’ve ever seen in Central London right now. Big lightning strikes and strong winds to go with it too!

White and even lavender shades on the Netweather radar. Up about 120mm/hr rates! Wouldn’t want to be on final approach right now. Think I’d rather circle and wait it out.

A thoroughly wet and miserable evening here in Edinburgh.

There was some brightness earlier on today but in the end, the really abysmal total of just half an hour of sunshine was recorded for the whole of today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Later on this afternoon, that east coast haar rolled in with that fog becoming quite dense. After that, the rain then set in and it is still absolutely chucking it down with rain here in Edinburgh as I write.

As of 8pm this evening, today's rainfall total so far had increased to 13.6 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 9.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Despite the miserable weather, today was fairly warm and muggy with the maximum temperature reaching 18.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank which was actually warmer than what it was yesterday.

As I write, the temperatures are refusing to drop just now as well , although the temperature at 8pm this evening was around 14°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
