This afternoon started off with the odd spot of rain still around in the wind at times with cloudy skies around for most of the time. Furthermore, the wind has picked up a bit and was gusting up to 29.8mph from the NNW at 4pm this afternoon at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
Apart from that though, the weather has been slowly improving as the afternoon went on as the clouds gradually thinned a bit, and started to eventually allow the Sun to be seen through them. That has led us to the point where the Sun is now shining as I write and as a result of that, a total of 6 minutes of sunshine has now been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon which means that we have at least managed to avoid having to experience back to back completely sunless days on this occasion.
Today's maximum temperature was 7.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 7.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
