Hmmm! It seems to be sticking just under 8c lately. I’ve missed most of this month due to holidays but it’s been quite pleasant since my return although we had frost this morning, which is a shock to the system after temps around 35c.

What’s happened to the forum? It’s gone weird! Is Brian tinkering?  Looks like we can choose between full site and mobile. I prefer the full site view though.

Still holding steady. We’ve had some lovely warm days this week but the frosty mornings are keeping the averages down.

Latest estimate from me for the final March CET is 7.83C. Not expecting much of a downward adjustment from Hadley this month.

Might have been a tad optimistic about March being a late bite at winter🤪

Any downward adjustment would be welcome!

Hadley has published final data for the first 30 days of March which gives a CET mean of 7.81C.

The mean minimum for the 31st is 4.5C. We are just missing the mean maximum for the 31st.

My calculations had a mean of 7.9C on the 31st so I am not expecting any movement in the overall mean. So 7.81C +/-0.01C will be the final figure.

So all those who predicted 7.80C are our winners this month - GezM, kendalian, sussex snow magnet, marco 79. Well done to all of them.

Cheers GW and thank you for all the hard work involved!

Can't believe I guessed right this time...my only other win was March 2015 so seems it's my lucky month.

Well done to Gez, Sussex and Marco...roll on April chaps. Reckon it'll turn warm later on!

Cheers GW for all of the hard work which is involved in running this competition and congratulations to all of this month's winners.

At the time when I first PMed GW with my prediction for March, I was swithering whether to go for a value of 7.27°C or somewhere around 7.75°C and in the end, I decided to go for the lower of those two values thinking that March might a relatively cool month compared to February.

However, I'm now wishing that I had gone for the higher of those values instead because although that might well have not been close enough to win this month's competition, it would have brought me very close nevertheless to what the final value for this month is likely to be.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Here are the final charts for March which was another very mild month.

Somewhat surprisingly the anomaly for minimum and maximum temperatures is broadly the same. I was expecting cooler minimums given we had a number of frosts.
