Strangely it doesn't feel as warm today as it was yesterday here, although the official temp at Farnborough is a couple of degrees higher.

From a rounded min of -3C (-2.3C up to 6am) at Farnborough it has reached 18.1C, so a diurnal range of around 21C today.

There was still frost on the lawn in the shade at 10am!

17.5c here and wall to wall sunshine, there are even people laying on the beach at lunchtime. Absolutly stunning, amazing and more than welcome. It feels like May. W e are smashing records for warmth left right and centre and by some margin with increasing regularity. Hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy it. Although things are going to revert to the default norm later this week, winter is 100% gone, hooray!

Ended up reaching a remarkable 18.7°C in the end, thrashing my February record by 1.4°C, set last Friday. A truly incredible spell of weather!

And to think tomorrow could be even warmer!

So we've not just beaten the old record but smashed it by almost a full degree! I wonder if anywhere will reach 70F tomorrow? Just need another 0.6 degrees C.

Quite a day. I remember 1998 well. It was also very sunny and settled, but the big difference with 2019 was that 1998 was a traditional Bartlett set up, strong Westerly winds dragging up Tm air, mild nights, sun breaking through hazy skies, and the really warm stuff lasted only 3 or 4 days. This year we've had nigh on 2 weeks of settled weather with a fairly stationary high, light winds and remarkably frosty nights.

Cooler in the far south- only 16.3°C max here this afternoon. All said, still stonking for February- especially off of subzeros this morning.

Frost here this morning and then it got up to about 17C. Felt really warm in sheltered spots in the sun. This time last year was just as sunny but the bitter cold airmass was just about to flood in from the east

I can see the far distance cloud lining over the N Sea so that where it bring the fogs here in the morning.

Let hope give prolonged warm to hot settled weather in the summer months.

The temperature reached just shy of 20C here today. Felt more like May than February. Wind direction off Kinder Scout (630m) was very favourable for locally high temperatures. What was also striking was how low the humidity was. Once the sun set it felt freezing despite the temp still being in the teens.

This weather is beyond unseasonal - to see people walking around in short sleeves and flip flops and picnics by the Quay is the earliest i have seen this ever here in Exeter - even people buying and eating ice creams outside in t-shirts.

This weather is remarkable ! - Well so much for the cold weather Met Office - well done in your forecast for forecasting temperatures some 10c above the average for Feb ha! NOT All they said was for milder interludes to be brief and the chance of an easterly wind! But not that I am  complaining anyway! So after this unseasonable weather there will be some postmortems into why the longer range weather models all got February/ or this winter so wrong with so much northern blocking and low pressure to our south when it was the exact opposite. Thank goodness it's dry warm and not mild and overcast/ warmth!

Also whilst I love this dry and warm End of April/May like weather - I do have some concerns about the wildlife, including crops and plants etc!? - Surely after experiencing the warmest Valentines day since that of 14th Feb 1998 - and persistently dry and warm weather since then with temperatures in the mid to upper teens weeks and maybe low 20's tomorrow, i feel mother nature will get confused and won;t be good for farmers? - What if we get a cold plunge with frost and ice and or even snow in March and bitter freezing cold temperatures? - I doubt this will happen but never rule this out!?

Maybe I am old fashioned and like seasons and like to see cold and snow in winter and warm and dry weather in summer but I just hope that we don't pay the the price for this in spring! I juts feel that winter is not done with us yet!?
