Here in Edinburgh, we maxed out at 16.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank today despite there being a lot more cloud around compared to yesterday.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Achnagart appears to have broken the record for the highest February minimum temperature anywhere in the UK. The lowest temperature in the 24 hours to 09z this morning was 13.9C at 09z yesterday morning.

The previous record was 13.7C set at Aboyne in 1998.

I would not be surprised if Plockton recorded a higher figure as it is to the north of high ground.

The temperature reached 15.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank during this afternoon which is my highest recorded temperature, before it then started raining here which brought a drop in the temperatures, although it still remains very mild here for the time of year.

Driving around this afternoon I noticed the car thermometer higher on hills than in the valleys . Unusual but with 850 temps so high and a relatively weak sun the profile is different.

High today 15.2c here. At least 16.4c at Bingley (267m) , 14c at Linton on ooze.

Kew Gardens got to 17.8c in the end yesterday.  A truly remarkable spell the second half of February has been must be the warmest 2nd half of February of all time?

Date records over the next 3 days are 24th - 17.8c,   25th - 16.6c,   26th -16.7c we should beat all of those.
