A dull, dark, dreary, depressing and soul destroying morning here in Edinburgh with constant grey skies and with nothing which is even remotely interesting in terms of our weather actually happening as this complete borefest of a so-called "winter" continues to drag on (luckily, we are now coming towards the end of this "winter", and I will now just be glad to see the back of it).

Last night overnight minimum temperatures were reached very early during yesterday evening and that was 3.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 2°C at Edinburgh Airport and 2.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and so, our frost-free hell goes on.

Since then, the temperatures have gradually being going up during the night.

The wind has also picked up as well, and was gusting up to 31.1mph from the SW at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 8.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The kind of weather that sucks the life out of you. Damp, dull dreary mild nothingness. 6.5C.

The pits and looks like we will be stuck with this for a while which will cement this atrocity of a season's place amongst the very worst.

Today was cloudy for the biggest part of the day and there was even the odd splash of rain at times. However, those splashes of rain never actually came to anything and in the end, the skies have very slowly cleared over time with the Sun breaking through. However, the end result of this is that a total of just 48 minutes of sunshine was recorded for the whole of today in the end, at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Today's maximum temperature was 11.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which makes today, the mildest of this year so far at all three of my local stations.

It has been fairly windy but in the end, it was almost springlike even though that wasn't really supposed to happen until later on in this week.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 10.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
