Today has actually been quite an eventful day in terms of our weather, for once (yes, even in the most boring part of the UK when it comes to our weather, the weather can actually be quite interesting on the odd occasion).
First of all, there was the fog which I reported earlier on this morning. That came down all of a sudden so that we then very quickly went from bright sunshine, to barely being able to see in front of our faces as that closed in.
That fog wasn't around for long and it wasn't long before the Sun then came out once again. Very soon after that though, it then clouded over as it had been forecast to do and now, it's raining

here in Edinburgh as I write.
The result of all of this is that overall, a total of just 54 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 2pm this afternoon and although it's still fairly early in the afternoon, that is probably going to be our lot for today in that department.
Last night's overnight minim temperature was -2.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, -3°C at Edinburgh Airport and -2.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature as at 2pm has now recovered to 3.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 4°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
