Would you believe it, that westerly is getting up again here in North Northumberland accompanied by rising temperatures. Todays high was only 3 c, and it as down below freezing by 5pm, but now its on the up as per usual with a katabatic flow off the Cheviots. Even if that low doesn't bring us snow I live in hopes of a southerly which usually means calm here

I've checked on conditions where I used to live way down in Kent , way colder down there and of course calm.......

A sunny end to today means that in the end, a total of 6.5 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank where today was the second sunniest day of this winter so far as a result.

With the Sun having gone down as well, the temperatures have dropped a bit with an official air frost already being recorded at all three of my local stations.

In the meantime, the temperature at 8pm this evening was -0.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, -2°C at Edinburgh Airport and -1.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Current temp 0.3C, today`s max 3.7C

Had an appointment at Christie hospital this morning, thankfully a late appointment at 11.30am. Was told by staff that the first outpatients to arrive were 2 hours late and got a round of applause for turning up at all.

A couple from Preston took 5 hours to reach the hospital.
