Clear; W breeze.

9.8*C after a maximum of 11.7*C at 2.00am.

85%RH; 1013.4mb rising.

This is something like the third time recently that I have reported an overnight maximum temperature rather than the expected occurrence of a minimum.  Unusual, I guess.

Here in Hawick, there is some blue sky around but also some cloud as well.

Minimum temperature in Edinburgh was around 5°C and here in Hawick, it got down to around 4°C, resulting in yet another frost-free horror show as the temperature during last night once again, refused to drop due to there being too much cloud around.

At the moment, the temperature is around 7°C here in Hawick.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

The most tedious boring and uninteresting start to winter in living memory continues. Was colder last night and should have got a frost but cloud kept coming and going and as a result never got lower than 0.7C

Woke up to more mild cloudy crud at 4C. The cloud has thinned enough to let the sun shine through now but temperature not rising much at 4.8C currently

After a somewhat damp night with 0.2 mm of rain, today is turning out to be a fine day with almost unbroken sunshine where the 12.3 c felt spring-like in the low early afternoon sun and light wind.

I could live with this.  Just a shame we'll be back to cloudy wet conditions tomorrow.
