Conclusion:
This autumn started off on a fairly unsettled note, albeit with no more than average rainfall during September. October was then a very dry month and although it rained on just about every day during November, this wasn't enough to prevent most of November from being substantially drier than average until a very wet spell towards the end of the month, then resulted in November being slightly wetter than average. The autumn as a whole was drier than average in terms of the actual rainfall amounts, but slightly wetter than average in terms of the number of official rain days.
As far as the temperature is concerned, the first two months of the autumn were slightly cooler than average, but November was quite a bit warmer than average overall. The net effect of this is that the autumn as a whole was slightly warmer than average overall.
As far as sunshine is concerned, both September and November was duller than average overall with October being slightly sunnier than average. The result of this is that the autumn as a whole was duller than average overall.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
