Despite everything being well set up for a frost, the temperatures in this part of the world are refusing to drop beyond where they had got to at midnight, due to there being too much wind (there is after all, always something which has to get in the way of us actually getting that frost).
As a result of that, the temperature at 4am this morning was 3.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 3°C at Edinburgh Airport and 3.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
