As has become the norm now, I have very little of interest to report here once again.
There has been the odd bit of sunshine at times but in the end, a total of just half an hour of sunshine was recorded for the whole of today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
The wind has picked up a bit once again as well, and was gusting up to 29.8mph from the WSW at 8pm this evening.
There was also a light shower of rain during the latter part of this afternoon but once again, this has resulted in that sad and sorry tale once again which we we see all the time now, where this was barely enough to even wet the ground. Once again, this means no recorded measurable rainfall in these parts and so, the relentless march into yet another official absolute drought at Edinburgh Gogarbank goes on.
Having said that though, this could yet change because the latest radar map shows that the cold front which is being forecast to bring that much talked about Arctic air behind it hasn't yet reached us, but that radar map also shows that there is already not very much left on that cold front and so, it is now looking increasingly likely that we will be going into that official absolute drought at Edinburgh Gogarbank on Sunday.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 10.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Today's maximum temperature was 13.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 14.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh although if the official forecasts are correct, today should be the last mild day which we see for a while now.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 10.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
