Too much cloud and far too much wind (the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank was still gusting up to 42.3mph from the WSW at midnight) means that the temperatures are still refusing to drop and if anything, have actually gone up slightly since my last report.

As a result, the temperature at midnight was 11.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Fair with hazy sunshine via thin cirrostratus. A pleasantly mild 17. 1 c with a drying 50% h under very little wind.

It was notably chilly this morning where it was still at 8 c at 10 am (from a min of 5.7 at 7.30 am) where skies were more overcast at that time.

Horrible day. Deeply unpleasant windy, mild cloudy garbage. Felt really awful due to the vile wind which won't let up until April now 

Temperature fell no lower than an abhorrent 10.8C overnight, reaching 15.3C during brief sunny break in the afternoon. Still 14.9C and almost dark due to the dismal cloud cover. 

No rain at all - just pointless grey monotonous gunk.

Very cold start- 4°C widely locally, but favoured frost hollows like the one to the S of the M27 services at Rownhams given white grass. 

Warmed under weak sun to 15+ but now just 14 in still, fairly clear conditions. Leafy smell.

Last night's minimum temperature was 10.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so it was a mild night which happened mainly because of there being too much cloud and far much wind which in turn, resulted in the temperature refusing to drop.

Today's maximum temperature was 13.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 14.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today has also been another very windy day with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank of up to 48.5mph from the west.

This along with too much in the way of cloud being around, is once again resulting in the temperatures refusing to drop, so the temperature at 8pm this evening was 12.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
