Dry, cold and clear with starry skies although the temperature isn't dropping as quickly as what I would like it to.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 6.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 5°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

There is some cloud around, but the Sun is shining as I write.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 0.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 0°C at Edinburgh Airport and 2.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

This makes last night the coldest night of this autumn so far and whilst this still isn't quite cold enough to give us an official air frost, this would have happened at Edinburgh Airport if the temperature had been any lower there than what it was.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 3.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 4°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Lots of white frost, air only got below freeing for an hour or so at sunrise though (min -0.5C)

Fair and dry (the small bit of dampness overnight is gone) with sunny spells and partial cloud. 16.5 c & 74% under a light north east breeze.

Feeling and looking more like a late Spring's day rather than mid-Autumn . . . not that I'm complaining!

A lot of cloud around this morning, but plenty of blue sky as well although a total of just 36 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 10.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

This afternoon has brought variable amounts of cloud with a total of 2.6 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon.

Today's maximum temperature was 11.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 11.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The end of today has brought more in the way of cloud and in the end, a total of 3.0 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 9.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so it is a bit milder tonight due to that additional cloud cover.
