The sky appears to be a bit clearer, and it has also cooled down a bit from this time last night.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 9.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Still no change here from the usual borefest (i.e. still a lot of cloud around), although it is a lot cooler this morning with the temperature continuing to drop.

The Sun has come through a lot more as today has gone on and although there is more in the way of cloud around just now, a total of 5.4 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon.

This morning's minimum temperature was 7.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 6.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 12.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

In the end, a total of 6.3 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

That has now taken us into a clear night so far with the temperatures falling away nicely as a result.

Today's maximum temperature was 12.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so today was cooler than yesterday.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening has now already dropped to 7.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 6.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
