Managed to stay just the right side of the heating thermostat, but it was a close run thing.

We’re back into the intermediate season where the towels in the bathroom stay damp all day, like in April and May. Too warm for the heated towel rail to come on, too cool for them to dry without it.

I think one of the main reasons it feels a little cool for some is because of the relatively low N Atlantic temps (at least in the northern part)

Locally, with the wind coming straight in from the west, the sky has an unusually 'low' look these last few days, which would be more akin to March than August.

A sure sign that the summer is coming to and end is that just as the school holidays (and summer depending on how you measure it) finish the warm, sunny summer like weather returns. Hello September!

Today just has that typical end of summer feel about it. It has been bright enough, there have been spells of sun, temperatures have been pushing towards 20C but there's no power to it. I'm not complaining really. It feels pleasant enough but the sun has lost its oomph!
