After a few pretty cloudy days it’s the weekend again and the sun is out. Sitting outside a cafe having a cappuccino for the umpteenth Saturday this summer while my daughter does her ballet class. Feels 23C already.

They’re playing 1990s rave on the sound system and I’m feeling all nostalgic for 1995. Same weather, but I was 23 years younger and this weekend I was off to watch Blur and R.E.M. at Milton Keynes bowl.

The permacast hell goes on here in the Scottish Borders with yet more constant grey skies but unlike yesterday, it is dry with a temperature of around 18°C.

Feeling pretty hot here though a fair bit of cloud. I’m surprised nowhere has hit 29 or 30 as there’s a 30C feel to things today.

Sad to see normal service resumed in the NW, especially as it’ll knock the CET.

21C cloudy with the very occasional hazy sunshine. Just poking through a bit more now. Feel like we have gone off the rails now this summer. Most days are now more disappointing than the forecast. People saying "breakdown...what breakdown?" . Well it's up here!

I hope the heat can reach up here next week but I'm not holding out much hope. This summer however good it's been will not be remembered as fondly by me if we can't even exceed 30C. In 1995 we exceeded 30C 8 times.
