It's still fairly windy here in Edinburgh just now but as the evening has gone one, that wind has very slowly and gradually died down a bit as Storm Hector exits the scene.
Whilst this evening hasn't been completely sunny though, there has been some decent spells of sunshine at times, especially as we got closer to sunset and in the end, a total of 7.1 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
Now, the skies are completely clear and the temperatures are dropping away under those clear skies. As a result of that, the temperature at 10pm tonight was 10.6ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 11.5ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh so it is a cooler than fresher night tonight than what we experienced last night with the temperatures already well below last night's minimum values.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
