Just watched it and there is a fascinating comment:

"This [ECM rather then UKM] is the meteogroup preferred scenario, preferred model".

If that pulls off then the Midlands could well be in for it! - can't believe it's Darren Bett who said this - usually he is a mild ramper. Either way it's good he explained different weather outcomes of models.

UK Outlook for Thursday 29 Mar 2018 to Saturday 7 Apr 2018:

Thursday looks to be cold across the UK, with a few wintry showers possible in the north. Later on Thursday and into Good Friday, southern parts of the UK will probably see outbreaks of rain whereas further north this could bring a risk of sleet or snow at times. For the rest of the Easter weekend, it's still too early to forecast in much detail, but it looks to be unsettled with a mix of sunny spells, showers, longer spells of rain and some snow, mainly in the north. The driest and brightest conditions will be in the northwest. Frost overnight but perhaps milder in the south at times. Further ahead, the weather may become more settled, with brief interludes of wintry showers, and rather cold, with frost at night.

UK Outlook for Sunday 8 Apr 2018 to Sunday 22 Apr 2018:

Colder than average conditions are likely to prevail overall through the middle part of April, with frost likely overnight. In the north the weather looks to be fairly settled although there will be a few wintry showers. Further south, there may be more in the way of wet and windy weather at times, and showers, perhaps wintry. Later in the month, it is possible that we could start to see some warmer weather, with less cold nights, and it may become drier generally.

That snowy BBC forecast looks like quite a wrong call now. I'm convinced it was based off an out of date ECM run!

They should use UKMO as the main model rather than ECM the latter didn't do well on beast 1 or 2 it was also one of the last to back away from the Easter cold

Are the media going to label every single cold air mass that reaches the UK from the east as this "Beast From The East [insert version here]" nonsense from now on?

Seemingly so, Bolty.

Best not suggest we start naming these beasts, like storms - they'd do it.

Adrian, Brian, Colin, Denzil, Eddie.....

Hell's Teeth!  I've suggested it.

Oh, the shame!

She is quite pretty!

I think mostly colder and threat of snow for north wales and Midlands northwards and for the south it would be cold at wet Today we reached a max of 8.5c

It actually looks colder on Wed/Thursday than of Friday! Also for the SW it looks like it will be overcast damp and dull - so it would feel colder. The problem right now is the lack of sun!

Wish they can stop naming every cold spell or cooler spell beast from the east! It's very irritating .

I checked Met Office - Doesn't mention that 'Beast from the East 3.0' on their site.

UK Outlook for Friday 30 Mar 2018 to Sunday 8 Apr 2018:

Throughout the Easter weekend unsettled weather is probable. Showers or longer outbreaks of rain are likely to affect all parts. We will all see some sunshine at times though, with the best of any drier and brighter weather expected across the northwest. It is also going to feel cold with a risk of snow in some places, particularly across higher ground in the northeast of the UK. Further ahead, the weather may become more settled across northern parts for a time, but southern parts are still likely to see showers or longer spells of rain at times. It is possible that as we approach the end of this period, more settled weather may develop across the whole country, giving a drier spell of weather, but still with night frosts.

UK Outlook for Monday 9 Apr 2018 to Monday 23 Apr 2018:

Throughout the middle of April a mixture of settled periods and short lived unsettled periods, bringing rain and perhaps some strong winds is the most probable scenario, but there is very low confidence in any detail. During the settled periods overnight frost is likely. Temperatures are likely to remain below average but some warmer daytime temperatures can be expected. As we head through the month any frosts should become more confined to northern parts.
