You can understand both managers getting the bullet, though in Preston's case the behind the scenes shenanigans has undoubtedly contributed to their demise.

To think that Simon Grayson turned down mega-bucks to manage Burnley last season...thankfully for us. One thing you can't say about us is that we're boring. 84 goals in our 24 games, 47 of those in 12 games at Elland Road!

PS - Matty, why the hatred to Preston??

No idea about them and Baxi. Sounds about right though. Outdated, inefficient and unreliable

Oh joy...I paid £390 in League One, £450 this season and next? £516 regardless of division.

Goodness knows what the cost to new applicants will be. At least £650. Shocking.

QPR to make loan offer for Woodgate. Good move, potentially, for 'Village' as he tries to play his way back to full fitness.

Bristol City 3-0 Cardiff

It's been clear for a while now that Cardiff seem to be doing their usual thing of starting well and then throwing it away. I can see why. No exageration they were absolutely diabolical today

Skuse had Bellamy in his pocket the entire game and Chopra did nothing. From reading the comments on their forum Bothroyd is by far their most influential player and they struggle without him. Certainly seemed the case. I had a feeling we would get something today as Cardiff have been poor for weeks and weeks now, but I didn't expect such an easy thrashing as that.

Although Swansea are by far the bigger of the two Welsh teams it must be sickening for Cardiff to see Swansea replace them in 2nd spot for now.

As for us? Another 3 points toward safety and midtable. Apparently we're 5 points off the playoffs. A distant dream this season.

5 Wins on the bounce now, and into the play-off zone (3rd bottom in Nov!). Football is a wonderful game

To quote the 5 Live commentator a "dreadful refereeing decision" cost us another 3 points against QPR. I would have took a point at 3pm though. QPR were the better side, but struggled against our pace on the break. A decent point

Not sure. Most clubs have been beating them lately. Very tight right through the whole league now

Been struggling with starters the last month or so haven't they? Top 6 place looks nailed on though, which is a massive season for you even if you did blow top 2. 😄 Norwich and Leeds are the two form horses at the moment. If I had to bet on top two finish I'd say qpr and Norwich, maybe Swansea due to their usually miserly defence

Watford look like a team to keep an eye on at the moment, 5 wins on the spin including against QPR and Cardiff who were both first and second when Watford beat them.

Even Scunny tried there best to get Watford to play in the dark today.

As you say though, a good point, building on the Cardiff slaughter.

The Championship is, as ever, becoming very interesting.

Norwich, Watford, Forest all on a bit of a charge.

We play at our old chums Cardiff tonight, a surefire defeat for us I fear, even though they're not firing on all cylinders. We looked incredibly tired on Saturday, and I think tonight will be a match too far.

As you suggest, crazy league as ever. Anyone right down to the Ipswich will feel they have a chance if they put a run together. I think Preston are doomed (shame) , but after that any number of teams could be drawn back in

Sadly, as ever, we can't hold on to the benefits of a goal.

Objectively it's a first defeat in 13.

Subjectively I hate them with a passion and wish the law of averages would equal things out with the gits (polite TWO speak - you know exactly what they are, Matty, I refer to our exchange of texts).
