I'd love to see the return of Yorkie. Another superb performance today. We had the odds stacked somewhat against us against a poorly supported Boro side that are in freefall, but have a new, icon of a manager. Bottom line is we deserved our win. 7 points from the last 9. I'm not stupid, but we are an established Championship at worst and we're starting to turn the corner. In two weeks time I'll be in Leeds with simon. Come rain or shine it'll be a battle and there will be little in it. One things for sure - I'll be pee'd and so will my man Supercell lol

The vultures are circling. Not sure if it's over Keane or Wickham though.

Another nasty little foul by the thug Bothroyd at 16 minutes 10 seconds. Horrible player. At least he got a yellow this time.

Yes, I think that's the case. And it's been his injury that has largely kept him out of the squad thus far.  But, sadly, Wickham won't be with us for long whatever happens to Keane - who has at least done a bit better so far than last season!   Recent results have been disappointing, but we've also progressed further in the League cup than we have for a long time.  And we've beaten both Leeds and Bristol - which is the most important thing

Hopefully this is just the usual media mis-speculation.

He's an Ipswich fan - the type that doesn't actually ever go and watch. Ever - but an Ipswich fan he calls himself, none-the-less, so he'd be foolish to have ambitions of anything but mediocrity 😂 I just text you, Si. Room booked at the place down the road from you 👍

Oi!  I watched Town live once .......

And unlike some, I can remember the joy of watching my team beating Arsenal in a cup final

Wonder if a repeat is on the cards this year?

No. Gutter press rubbish as usual

And the debt, as every year for the last ten, will be written off via Steve Lansdownes chequebook

We are very lucky to have one of the richest chairman in the country. Our finances are a whole lot better than the vast majority of the FL. He'll never want the money back. He's a lifelong fan, not just our chairman

The story about the annual loss is true, but show me a club that don't run at a loss every year. It's a non story. There is no mention anywhere of James going, or anyone else for that matter.

Steve did an interview yesterday to set the record straight. He'd continue to bankroll the club and would never leave them out of pocket. His personal wealth increased by £100m last year alone, so it's small potatoes to him, although anyone who wasn't a fan wouldn't do it, of course. Year on year he writes off the debt, to his credit.

He has played the stadium card lately saying he will take his investment out of the city if it doesn't go through, and that he may step down as chairman if it doesn't happen, but he knows full well it will happen. The last few weeks have been spent gathering enough pro-stadium support so that when the council overturn the green site status they wont look as if they are doing it just because they are backing the club with the stadium. The council want it as much, if not more than the club. A friends mother works for Ibstock and bricks were ordered for the stadium two weeks ago. It's all in place ready to go once the go ahead is given, hopefully in the next few weeks.

He has said if he ever stood down as Chairman he wouldn't take away his money, so he would take a backseat roll but still stump up the cash

We do need to trim the squad. We have a good 8 players that are surplus to requirement and they will be sold off in January all being well

A win at Sheffield and we're back on top of Norwich

So much for the Mail's attempts to start malicious rumours about Keane's position being under threat.  Our best start to the season in years.   And although 9 points behind QPR,  we're not out of automatic promotion contention yet!

Thankfully the story is a News of the Screws sourced one - so probably has as much legs on it as Arthur Askey - but apparently Ridsdale is planning an £11m takeover of Charlton. Are they really only worth that much?

Anyway, if I were a Charlton fan I would be scared..... very very scared.

No link as I refuse to pay Murdoch for the 'privilege' of reading his stuff.

EDIT: Ridsdale denys story.

If only our results were as good as our publicity

There is one reason why Manchester United supporters still sing about Leeds United. Make that 6,200 reasons.

That remarkable figure was the number of fans Leeds took to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, swelling the crowd to 28,184 and giving Coventry City their largest Championship gate at their new home and their biggest league attendance for two decades (since Highfield Road turned all-seat).

Simon Grayson’s team emerged to a whole end chanting, “We are champions, champions of Europe’’. Deluded, perhaps, but hopelessly devoted. Such loyalty will be rewarded one day.

The inconsistency issue raises its ugly head again. Having been battered by a Hull player on Tuesday it seems that, just like the Bothroyd incident, no action is being taken despite the evidence being clear (on Becchio's face if nowhere else!).

Are we using TV evidence or not?
