Still fancy England to set up a semi against Germany. Looking like the tournament's lucky team this time round.

Well, when the likes of Lineker, Hansen etc are saying how poor this French side is, and how they looked disinterested from the first whistle etc, you'll have to excuse me if I listen to them rather than any of us.

I think it's a racing certainty.

I think it'll be similar to tonight. Italy WILL dominate, in my opinion, but that doesn't mean they'll win.

Amazing how the football world turns. In the space of a few weeks Woy has gone from nothing to suddenly looking the part after getting a big slice of luck, and 'Arry is rumoured to be looking for teams in the middle of the desert to manage.

Matty, I think Young fits in very well with Hodgsons system. He is a very busy player, gets back very quick and does what he is instructed and keeps to the system. He had a decent game last night along with Gerard and the back 4 plus keeper. Hodgson seems very settled with the team and wouldnt be suprised if England start with the same 11 against Italy.

Only in certain eyes though Brian. Some people, myself included, were delighted we went with Roy and not Harry.

I know it's only a little thing, but i love the positivity, all the hand slaps and bum taps and encouraging on field. That's Roy working his magic

My choice was always Harry, tho when Roy took over it wasnt a real major shock he was the safer option and does have tactical knowledge that Harry lacks. But Roy really has the team glavanised and is a really likeable chap.

After seeing the horlicks he made at Liverpool, I dreaded the appointment.

I don't think he's particularly worked miracles with England, though. Over the course of every game we've been like a boxer playing the ropes, absorbing punches yet blocking most with a rugged but accomplished defence, then occassionally letting loose with a solid right cross or uppercut. Those tactics will take you so far, but you'll come undone against the top class opponents.

Then again, the squad he picked is unquestionably limited in skill and technical ability. However, he's sacrificed what little flair and skill we have with organisation and a gameplan designed to negate the threat of the opposition.

Maybe that gives England their best chance of progression in this tournament. But boy is it awful to watch.

Yes, but it was -£3m (-£3m after tax),as opposed to say £5m.   

Most Arsenal fans I know (there's a fair few here as you might guess) are delighted 'Arry has left Spurs. The £3 million you had to pay him is a bonus for them.

I know Gerrard aint keen on playing Right Midfield but when you look at the crosses he has put in it makes you wonder if he could play there after this tourment for England, when the likes of Wiltshire is back fit.

I remember when he come back from Injury for Liverpool and one of the first things he did was go out on the right flank and out in a cross for Carrol to score with his head.

I think you'll find most Spurs fans are too. Mind you, there's still a minority of diehards left if the Spurs board I use is any barometer.

Depending on the rules of this goal line technology, if and when it comes in. wouldn't it be rather poor if they'd looked at that goal and given it, even though it was offside in the first place, but the rules prevented them from checking?

I'd hope they'd do a referral like in cricket to check the initial pass (like a 'no ball') to make sure its legit otherwise we'll end up with wrong goals being given as well.

I watched MOTD as well, did you hear the comment from the Lineaker etc saying that Ashley Young was asking Ashley cole where he should be??? What is all that about?
