Good result, patchy performance. There is some potential with this team. Rooney to come back in as well. Should qualify from here. Wouldn't have thought we'd progress too much further though. COME ON ENGLAND!

The most exciting game of the tournament so far, but good god we are a shambles at times. Oh well, on to Ukraine and another load of mush no doubt.

The usual rollercoaster of emotions!  At 2-1 I honestly thought that was it but at the very least they fought back and that will surely provide some boost to morale.

Strange performance in the first half - looked very slow and clueless (more so than normal).  Two gifts gave Sweden the momentum but what I do like about Hodgson is that his substitutions always seem to be positive and logical.  Milner was poor and I think should be dropped.

I suspect more of the same against Ukraine on Tuesday but hopefully Rooney provides some much needed spark and invention.

Just watching the two Swede goals again. Keane said last night that Ireland's defending would be unacceptable on a Sunday morning, but at no stage did Ireland depend as badly as we did several times tonight. How on earth did England win??? Lol!!!

The goals we scored were great. Gerrards ball and carrols power header. Walcotts goal you see about 5 sweds trying to close him down before he lets rip. The wellbeck igoal have rewound about ten times because at first he look like he dummied i am in my opinion sure now he meant it. Nerves jangle at the thought of the ukraine game.

Not before time here tomorrows fixtures. Back round to group A all up for grabs could well be poland and greese out but we shall see.

Poland v czech republic cc of bbc sport.

Poland, who need to beat Czech Republic to reach the knockout stage, have three injury worries ahead of their final Group A match.

Defender Damien Perquis suffered a deep cut to his shin in the 1-1 draw against Russia, while midfielder Dariusz Dudka aggravated an abdominal strain.

Eugen Polanski picked up a badly bruised knee and all three will be monitored before the game.

Czech Republic captain Tomas Rosicky is a slight doubt with an Achilles injury.

The Czechs also need a win to qualify, and knock Poland out, although a draw might also be enough.MATCH PREVIEW

The Polish national anthem is often referred to by its opening line - "Poland Is Not Yet Lost" - and that is certainly the case in Group A despite back-to-back draws for the co-hosts.

And greese v russia.

Greek keeper Kostas Chalkias is out after injuring his hamstring against the Czechs, so Michalis Sifakis starts.

Centre-back Avraam Papadopoulos is unlikely to play again this year, but Sokratis Papastathopoulos is available after a one-match suspension.

Kostas Katsouranis is therfore likely to move back into the midfield.

Russia appear to have a fully-fit starting XI, but Advocaat may consider replacing centre forward Aleksandr Kerzhakov with Roman Pavlyuchenko.MATCH PREVIEW

It's do-or-die for Euro 2004 winners Greece. Fernando Santos's plucky, battling outfit sit bottom of Group A and must beat Russia - something no team has done in 16 matches - to go through to the last eight. "My faith in my team is total," says Santos. "We have to focus and believe that it is possible."

I don't think I can recall a game where I went from sitting on the sofa comfortably, to the carpet and then standing a foot from the TV, I was literally on edge the whole game to the point that I didn't know where to sit or stand!

England were consistently second best in winning the ball when it broke loose. They were back to looking terrified when they got the ball with an opposing player close, whereas Sweden always seemed to skip away from the attempted first tackle in as they received the ball. The result was that we lost so much ball it was untrue - and depressing. England paying too much at a pedestrian pace. Precious little flair or imagination on show. Overall a very mediocre, bitty performance, lifted only by a few flashes of attacking skill.

Decent performances from Terry, Carroll, Johnson and, of course, Walcott's cameo role. Not so good from Milner, Parker, Young and, brilliantly-taken goal aside, Wellbeck.

Another is the perception that because we haven't beaten them before (that's also incorrect as we've beaten them several times), that it's something to celebrate. Ok, it's nice, but it's hardly anything of merit in the grand scheme of things.

Of course we won't win it, but that doesn't mean all of us have the Irish attitude of grinning and bearing it. All of those players out there play in what we are constantly being told is the best league in the world, and all of them earn more in a week than I earn in a year, yet for large portions of that second half they looked like Conference players against pros, and this is a Sweden side that is one of the worst in the entire tournament.

Welbeck's goal was sublime. Walcott's goal was well struck and Carroll's header was pitch perfect. Other than that the minuses far outweighed the plusses in the grand scheme of things.

Now, you can carry on seeing the best side of everything and just enjoying the ride, but if you pull me to task for my less enthusiastic views then you'll expect me to fight my corner.

My Opinion is that we have the worst England side for a long time but the most passionate England side in a long time, that was a fighting performance we would never have seen under Capello.

Considering the situation Roy came into I think he has done well so far, but I suppose the hype of previous tournaments is gone, the view I think is that people are just watching and see how far England can get rather then any expectations beforehand.

Englands play has been mixed, 35 minutes of great defending at the end of the France game followed by the woeful defending in the first part of the second half. Improve our final third and make sure our defense doesn't switch off then we might surprise.

However I'm just enjoying the footie so far and seeing how far England can get. I was skeptical about Hodgson taking over initially, but he has had a steady start and the players seem to finally be showing a fair bit of passion, even if the team isn't what it once was.

In my opinion when England play in majors it is a win win situation.  Bet on England they win.., i make money.  Bet on England they dont win... i happy

Following this game i am exceptionally happy.  I had France England Double, Carrol to score in the 90mins.  and 3 or more goals in game.  Nice little profit, and a fairly exciting 2nd half for a neutral to boot.

I've said it before and I'll say it gain. The Hodgson FA missed a trick here by not fielding our U21 side, or something akin to it. Bring as many youngsters in (such as Caulker, for example) as possible.

I'm looking to the future of the England team, not the present - much of which represents the past.

I'd rather support a young inexperienced team (holding no fear) getting hammered than one that will muddle through to the QFs and allow the FA to breathe a sigh of relief.
