Its going to be interesting to see what impact the eclipse will have on temperatures as it looks like its going to be a hot day for most of England and Wales. Temperatures will be declining as the eclipse occurs early evening but we've not had a deep eclipse coiniciding with high temperatures for the UK for many moons, so to speak
Also to note is that maximum eclipse with occur when the sun is lowish in the sky and this will have an impact on light levels. The eclipse will be darker than if the same eclipse had occur at solar noon (sun's highest position) that same day. So even if there is cloud blocking, there will be a notable drop in light levels in and around maximum. It will be almost like there are two sunsets that day. Another factor is the clarity of the air, as we know a lot of pollutants, aerosols in the air can scatter a lot of light making the sun appear redder as the sun heading towards sunset or spectacularly with the "Hurricane Sun" caused by the remains of Ophelia in October 2017.
If the sun is not hidden by clouds near maximum, the shadows cast are going to be very interesting, there could be a lot of thin crescents casts also shadows that are vertical such as telegraph poles will appear a lot sharper.
The eclipse will be darker than the 20th March 2015 eclipse at least for my location
