What about in the past when Concorde used to take off at Heathrow or any other airport during it visit, they have massive reheat but seem not effect the station temperatures?

However it's worth mentioning that both those stations were right in the area modelled to be hottest today. Hopefully tomorrow will see a decent reading at a station that is working properly!

Max would be 29.8 for July 30 and 29.6 for yesterday, although there is a chance that a manual station could have reached 30 as well. 

Also the very first 30C day of the year (May 23) was also only recorded at Frittenden but that has been entered into the records on the May daily summary so I assume it was OK back then? But that might get removed too I suppose.

There seems to be a problem with the daily max figures at Frittenden, as the hourly values all looked OK but then the daily maximum sent at 1800Z was too high. The highest hourly reading was 28.1C at Frittenden yesterday, so it looks like the thermometer is reading OK but there is a glitch somewhere.

Whereas at Charlwood it just seems to be consistently reading too high, especially early in the day, which to me would suggest there might be a problem with the screen itself, maybe letting in sunlight?
