A bit cooler than last night, and breezy from the NE. There's a blanket of North Sea cloud but that's going to burn away by late morning.

18.6, dew 17.3, the low being 18.1. Yesterday's high was 22.3 which - remarkably - is a fraction of a degree below average!

The house is now 23 up and 21 down, so about as good as can be expected in summer.

Windy this morning with a strong and gusty east wind. The overnight temperature bottomed out at 19.6c it’s currently 20.8 and rising quickly. Some A/C to the south associated with the beginnings of that frontal system moving up from Biscay.

A much better day here in Edinburgh.

Today started off on a dull and overcast note, but we are now seeing increasing amounts of sunshine as the day wears now.

As a result, it's also a bit warmer than at this time yesterday with the temperature currently at around 18°C in Edinburgh more generally, although the more coastal areas are still a bit cooler at around 16°C.

With that in mind, I reckon that we might get back to experiencing a 20+°C maximum today even though the Met Office predictions are still disagreeing with that at the moment, and this is actually shown up really well by the fact that the temperature here in Edinburgh has already reached today's predicted maximum for here despite it still being fairly early in the day.

After a cloudy start, the sun has got to work now and the temps have responded accordingly, 26.2c after a low of 14.3c. Blue skies again with a light but welcome breeze.

Interesting morning..just come back from a cycle ride with winds gusting to 40 mph. We encountered a brief thunder shower with hardly any rain. Current temperature of 26.5c. Showers now moved away with streaks of A/C across a blue sky.

All of that has pegged the temperatures back a little bit closer to the coast itself. However, none of that is doing anything to spoil our sunshine in anyway and the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank has risen to just below 20°C which means that the actual maximum temperature for there could already be above 20°C once that is confirmed by the raw BUFR/SYNOP data later on.

When I run my various python scripts in preparation for my reports on various other threads such as the monthly, seasonal or annual stats or for precipitation (the latter of this os of course, a complete waste of time now since our rainfall totals are now, never anything else other than below average), those scripts are always for the data for Edinburgh Gogarbank so if today's maximum temperature for there does show as being over 20°C, I will be reporting a 20+°C maximum anyway, regardless of what happens at any of the other local stations.

Windy here, with the yacht club further along the coast reporting an F7 "near gale" - mean 32mph, gusting to 33-36. The mean is much lower here, half a mile inland, but we're still getting gusts into the 30s, with much rustling of the trees. Sunny, of course, a very slight milky look to the blue sky, 22.7, dew 18.4, with the high so far being 22.9.

I suspect further inland, with lower humidity and higher temperatures, the wind will be desiccating!

A windy 23c with clear blue sky, quite easy to go pink in this weather. Spent a spell outside just after 15:00 and came in a little sun and wind caught, after 15 minutes! It's far too windy for the Parasol so will wait until after 17:30 to have another break out there.
