I have tried making normal sourdough and during covid did several batches when yeast was difficult to get. It's not bad but is a bit of an acquired taste.

Nothing new there. I've been telling people for decades about how cats give you a brain parasite (saying between a third and a quarter of the population have it) and find it baffling the way nobody cares. I can only assume they all have it and it's modifying their behaviour!

That same parasite causes mice and rats to lose their fear of cats, and be attracted to their urine. I strongly suspect it has some effect on people, too, and it certainly would explain how many (but by no means all) cat owners seem completely oblivious to why people might not want their pets taking dumps on their lawn, or killing birds in their gardens.

Me too - parasitology was a big interest for me for many years - and it amazed me how few cat people were up to speed on this one. I like your thought folks may all have it and behave accordingly! Would explain a lot about human behaviour. 😉 Travelling in Asia we managed to pick up giadiasis. That's worth reading up - as again it's far commoner that people realise. My GP said "If you will go drinking water full of human ...."

Aha, I've hears of giardia in dogs (and potentially wolves) - seems it's the same thing that humans can get. Not nice!

I don't know if that's a medical term, but suffice to say I've not seen any diarrhoea that isn't smelly!
