Rather unexpectedly, it looks as though summer has finally arrived here in Edinburgh.

After a dull and damp start to the day, it has become increasingly bright and sunny as the day has worn on, and we even have our first 20+°C maximum since the very first day of this month at all three of my local stations.

Currently around 20°C here in Edinburgh which is quite a lot warmer than of late, and this brings up much more back in line with what the most recent years have generally been like here which was the reason why the almost constant sunshine which we saw during the spring, just became boring in the end as a result.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Absolutey pouring here. Got some much needed garden work/tidying done yesterday as there was a fairly good drying breeze, but wasn't expecting this yet again. (should have kept a closer eye on the more immediate forecasts!). Reasonable and useable dry spells just don't seem to be a thing this year at all.

Partly cloudy here this morning, 16.0, dew 15.2 and a bit of mist in the distance. "Mist in the hollow, hot day to follow" as the old saying goes!

Last night's low was 15.3 and yesterday's high was 25.5.

Cloudy, calm with drizzle and earlier mist and fog at 16.5C.  Yesterday's sea mists and hill fogs are usually a harbinger of warmth and or heat to come.

Last night was our warmest night of the year so far with the temperature only dropping to a rather muggy 14.43°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 14.60°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, this morning has started off on a cloudy note with a temperature of around 15°C here in Edinburgh.

23.0c with a fair amount of cloud and some sunshine.

Pretty much as per Met Office App.  The text forecast for this region for today has been dreadful for days, talking about widespread rain moving across all areas.  Today's version has backtracked slightly and says rain moving across northern areas but doesn't really say what the weather is like elsewhere.  The forecast for days looking at short range models has been 25c and partly cloud for most of the populated areas of the region with some rain moving across the far NW and perhaps this evening extending further South. I do wish they would try and match up the automated with the text. The text should be binned because it's very often inaccurate and sometimes i think it describes a different region.

A very stuffy night last night, I'm feeling a bit like a zombie today... and no doubt others will be similar down here. I'm glad I don't have to commute to the mainland any more, as drivers always become more aggressive, more erratic in spells like this!

Anyway - partly cloudy, 16.8 (dew 16.0), and a slight mistiness in the distance. The overnight low was 15.9, yesterday's high was 24.7 and there was 1.4mm of rain. It's still 25C upstairs in my house, 23C downstairs.

Today is one of those days where it's meant to get into the low 30s according to the MetO raw, and without a sea breeze it's quite likely IMO.

You just know when you see a sky like this early on a summer morning that it's going to be a scorching day! Taken in my garden just now...

Whilst down this end of the country it’s dull, foggy with a moderate to fresh SSW breeze. There is some mizzle in the air with a dampness to the ground.

Current temperature 15c
