Conclusion
The spring of 2026 contained many notable events. It contained an official white Easter which came on the back of Storm Dave. There was a rare air frost in May but there is also a spell of exceptionally hot weather towards the end of May
Overall, the spring of 2026 was warmer than average especially in terms of the daytime maximum temperatures.
The spring of 2026 got off to a wet start and in the end, the number of official rain days was above average. In terms of the actual rainfall amounts, the spring of 2026 wasn't as dry as the spring of 2025 but it was still drier than average overall with March being its only wetter than average month.
The spring of 2026 was also a lot sunnier than average overall but that was mostly down to the fact that March and April were both exceptionally sunny as May ended up being the only duller than average month within the spring despite containing an exceptionally sunny second half of that month.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
