The GDPS is the flagship numerical weather forecasting model operated by the Meteorological Service of Canada (ECCC): It produces deterministic weather forecasts out to 10 days twice per day (00 and 12 UTC).

At least that's what I got when I had persuaded Google's  AI that I really did mean GDPS and not GDP.

Yes GDPS is a hybrid model. It's physics based but "is spectrally nudged by an artificial intelligence-based algorithm". The new version of it went live on 26/05/2026 and took over from the GEM model, which is now retired.
