Here in Edinburgh, we have the same old lack of  any actual weather once again and the same old mostly sunny skies (albeit with some cloud around as well) and without yesterday's really cold start.

Currently around 9°C here in Edinburgh

Expect every post for each day in the lifetime of this particular to now just be a copy and paste of this one, since that is what it is generally always like here given that we only very rarely actually experience any interesting weather which is any different from that.

An unusual start to today. Puddles. After recent rain, not a lot, but it's rain.

Calm and bright at 10.2 °C.

12.4C.  Cloudy with the last of this front moving east. A moderate fall of rain overnight too. Welcome by me, but I'm sure some were not happy. And fresh to strong SSW winds not so welcome by me..

Being a particularly bleak morning with moderate rain (7 mm so far) in brisk S wind making the current 12.2 C feel cold. But am making the most of it for it'll be the last bit of significant rain for quite a while going by the looks of things. Am seeing turfs of new grass growth on the seeded section of my levelled off lawn but whether it'll stay that way for long remains to be seen.

A dull, damp and dreary start to today here in Edinburgh but a warm one with the temperature already at around 13°C.

Despite the ongoing lack of sunshine here in Edinburgh during today  (although it is now much drier than it was earlier on today), today has somehow managed to go down as our warmest day of this month so far with the temperature reaching 18.16ºC at the botanic gardens.

I'd therefore hate to imagine how warm it would be if the Sun had come out today, but that is forecast to happen in the coming days when we should finally get to see our first 20+ºC maximum of the year at Gogarbank.

Warm, much more humid than of late and sunny.

21.9, dew 14.8, the high being 24.2 - second warmest day of the year so far, behind (amazingly) the 9th April, which reached 24.4.

The next few days won't be much fun... it's already 27C upstairs and that's with the windows open all afternoon!

The same here, though a notable SSE breeze on the strand earlier. Back to easterlies or sort of it seems after a short blip. The recent light rains seem a long time ago.

The botanic gardens in Edinburgh has just recorded its first 20+°C maximum of this year with a maximum temperature of 20.39°C.

However, it wasn't quite as warm as that at Edinburgh Gogarbank where the temperature only reached 19.65°C with a total of 5.0 hours of sunshine.  That was warmer than yesterday and was enough to give us our warmest day of this month so far, but that wasn't quite enough to give us our warmest day of the year so far at that particular station, where the wait for that elusive first 20+°C maximum of the year will now go on for at least another day.

As I write, it has clouded over a bit once again but it is still warm with a temperature of around 17°C here in Edinburgh.

Dew points have started to climb this evening. They're currently around 15-16C mark.

Also of note are some beautiful mackerel clouds being lit up by the setting sun. Indicative of something unsettling on the horizon 🧐⚡

Outstanding thunder and lightning here around  4am.About 20 minutes. Spectacular. No precipitation seen at the time. I'll see what the rain gauge had later. 🌩🌩🌩

18.3C blue sky, just a little hazy with high cloud.

Roger must have seen the end of a decaying cold front which was being (almost) killed off by the high pressure
