Cloudy. later foggy last night so no meteor spotting!  A misty starry to the day - trees very drippy. Now temps are12-13C, wind very light - so feeling warm, very hot in direct sunlight.

It's very telling how dry this air mass is: the large diurnal temperature ranges reported in this thread, a deep blue sky and I can feel my throat and my eyes getting dry very often.

Here today, was another beautiful, almost cloudless day. The respective high and low temperatures were 20.8°C and 5.3°C, but the DPs ranged from –3.0°C this morning, to 5.3°C this afternoon. It again, reflects how low the humidity is (28%)

Seem there no Spring thread this time ? Been very sunny and warm today and my conservatory had reached first exact 100F 37.7C today as it been stable 32 to 33 last 6 days.  Won’t be long to see 40C soon.  This month almost similar to last year dry sunny April.

Meanwhile back on topic, I can report that today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 18.52°C which makes today our warmest day of the year so far but the maximum temperature at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh was pegged back to just 14.82°C thanks to a cooling wind from off the North Sea. With that, the wait for our first 20+°C maximum of the year goes on, although we're getting fairly close to that happening now.

A total of 9.7 hours of sunshine was recorded for today in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank, but the east coast haar has now rolled in once again with some thick fog to end the day here.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

6C earlier with a lot of high clouds and contrails from the early transatlantic flights. Calm inland, still an easterly on the coast.

That has probably also contributed towards today being that much cooler here in Edinburgh where the temperature is currently ranging from only around 10°C at the botanic gardens to around 12°C at Gogarbank.

We reached 11 C earlier but it's down to 10 C now with a fresh NE wind. Too cold for the garden! 🥶

I think some parts of the UK will be enjoying temperatures 10 C higher!

Not much wind here thankfully but cool enough at 8.7°C currently.

It was sunny for a while earlier and I managed to get the grass cut.

Sunny here for a while but cloud has filled in. 18.8c and feels humid after this morning's deluge. Got a few hedges trimmed but the garden still squelchy underfoot. A very poor 'fine spell' for April to be honest.

9% - Aonach Moor 11am

14% - London City Airport 2pm

And loads of 15%s, including:

Heathrow 21/-7 (4pm)

Fairford 23/-5 (4pm)

And even Southend is unusually dry: 18/-3 (24%)

15.8/8.8 here (63%).

EDIT: And 15% RH is more like you'd find on a plane - several hours of that really dries you out!

Lovely day and feels pleasant in the sheltered garden

17.9c currently. Briefly 19.5c earlier, fresh Easterly wind and cloudless.

First thing this morning it was 9c here, but quickly encountered a ground frost in the valley.
