Ready for next week.

BTW, I'll be away in a week's time - would someone else like to start the corresponding thread on the 19th?

Since this is the thread which we should now be using (I'm sure that DEW will get around to closing last week's thread in due course), I will now post my observations on this thread.

Last night wasn't quite as chilly as the preceding night with an overnight minimum temperature of 5.17°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

There were a few overnight showers and given that I can see the odd rainbow in the distance to my SW, I can see that there are already a few showers dotted around in this vicinity this morning as I write. For now now, the Sun is shining here once again as it usually always does.

Currently around 7°C here in Edinburgh.

9.8C sunny periods, shower clouds moving briskly from west (there was a shower about 0600 and another 0900)

I leave the old thread open if for whatever reason I log out early on Saturday, just in case of a late contribution e.g. 2349 yesterday. Now closing

9.9C. Sunny spells. I hope today won't be as annoying as yesterday with its dust storms and poor air quality.

Quite a cool SE breeze today but bright and clear. About 7C but feels lower. Was considering a walk along the river - but...

Conditions the same, just a tad colder.

0.2c now, the min was -0.8c. Hoping our wisteria managed to survive, thankfully the buds had opened so fingers crossed.

There was 1.8mm of rain yesterday, the first rain for the month - and a very strong petrichor smell afterwards! Last night was cold, too, down to 1.6... it's now 1.7, clear and calm, just dew on the cars though rather than a frost.

Last night was very cold for this time of the year (it was even colder than what was actually forecast, something which doesn't happen very often these days in this modern era of climate change and global warming) with an official air frost being recorded at all three of my local stations as the overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped to -1.16°C.

However, that has taken us into yet another bright and sunny start to yet another morning. This month is now running much sunnier than average once again here and just like last year, our exceptionally sunny spring goes on.

Currently around 3°C here in Edinburgh

A clear frosty start here earlier and down to minus 2. Some shriveled leaves on hydrangeas etc. Always a shame when early mild weather encourages new growth which is then damaged by a late(ish) frost

After a cold but sunny start to today, it's now clouded over here with light to moderate rain now setting in (this spring so far has been very sunny but unlike last year and also unlike in a lot of other parts of the UK, this has been a slightly wetter than average spring here up until now).

However, it has warmed up to around 13°C here in Edinburgh, especially with that earlier sunshine.

Walking doggo earlier i thought it was just the dew points making it feel rather warm but it was also around 18.5C.

Now the rain is beginning to fall and temperature down to around 15C

Rumbles of thunder here, line of showers moving off the north Devon coast. Variable wind right now and 14ºC. Way stronger SW wind and brighter skies just to my west.

After a dull, damp and murky morning, it has brightened up and thus the current 14.0 C & high-80% H are feeling fairly mild for it. I reckon that line of showery rain will largely fizzle out by the time that get here at around 6 pm.
