Meant to post this story of the winds last Sunday.

"A woman has recounted the dramatic moment when a large tree in her Lincolnshire garden was blown down during a gale.

Emma Rawlings, from Snitterby Carr, near Gainsborough, said the aggressive bout of gusts on Sunday evening lasted for only about five minutes, but during that time she had been left holding on to her kitchen units.

"I just didn't want to move because it was actually so frightening for a few seconds," she said. The high winds "came out of nowhere" and she described it as like a train going over her house.

As well as the 40ft (12m) conifer, her house and fencing was damaged."

Rawlings, 60, added: " I thought the roof was going to come off... The roar was unbelievable."

After a fair start with some hazy sunny breaks, it's back to the usual overcast gunk. Just a tad milder at 13.2 C but winds are dead calm this time.

It was 15 C here at 1pm. The rain has set in now and we've dropped to 11 C

Further north it's snowing steadily at locations like Carrbridge, Aviemore and Tomatin with temperatures just above freezing 😯

Quite a dramatic drop in temperature behind the cold front, from 13C at 2pm quickly down to 7C and now 4C in steady rain. Loch Morlich webcam showing steady snow, already starting to lie.

Yet another sunny day in this sunny early Spring! We had 144% of average sunshine in March

Quite chilly still, after -1 C last night with frost and ice I've only reached 9.8 C today

There was some overnight rain but not enough to measure with some spits and spots now. At least it's settled the dust which was a nuisance from the building site. Cloudy with moderate SW breeeze at 10.8C.

Dull, damp, cool and breezy. 10 C & mid-90% H.

With weather like this, it's little wonder why there isn't much activity in this part of TWO these days. 😁

I’m currently in the Scottish Borders where I am spending the Easter weekend with my family and I can confirm report that Storm Dave has now arrived here in Hawick with increasingly heavy rain setting in as the warm front comes through.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

We are now down to 5 C in Edinburgh and 4 C to my south at Swanston.....getting colder! Wonder if we stay in the colder air as Dave is coming across further south 🤔

Meanwhile Spring continues down south!
