Using the daily means gives 8.17°C which provisionally puts Dingle Rob and Spring Sun Winter Dread nearest the mark at just 0.03°C out.

Wallaw then tops the table despite a 1.0°C error for February.

The mean error across all entrants would then be just 0.3°C which must be among the lowest on record and is all the more impressive considering the month was 1.43°C above the 1991-2020 average.

So the 2 winners were now only 0.01C out on that basis

Well done to both of them

Yes, well done to Dingle and Spring. And a good all round performance from all competitors.

I'm expecting the spread of predictions to be considerably wider in April.

Congratulations to this month's winners, Spring Sun Winter Dread and Dingle Rob - a bottle of virtual Moet is winging its way to you! It was a very closely fought month - in fact it's probably one of the lowest prediction errors overall in the history of the competition as no one was more than 0.69c adrift of the eventual CET. As such there's not much change in the leader board. I wonder what April will bring!
