Been foggy pretty much the whole day, it tried to brighten up in mid-afternoon but didn't last long.

Sent the Personal Delta Flyer up to see if there was a sun above the murk . . .

A clear day here, light cloud, bright, with a gentle variable breeze. 7°C. A day for mowing the lawn, perhaps?

I note -35C near Hudson's Bay, -45 in central Greenland, and -27 at Surgut, in the Asian part of Russia. Still plenty of cold weather to come back and give us a nip.

Not as cold as there in N. America. 8C after overnight rain and looks sunny when the sun is up in a few minutes. Westerly breeze.

A windy night gusting to 45mph. Lowest temperature was at 0810 this morning, 4.5 C in a heavy blustery shower, preceded by a very bright rainbow

Clear now with bright blue sky as the wind and showers lessen slightly

Another wild morning. Gusts over 60 mph for several sites in Scotland, 103 mph at Anoch Mor and 93 mph at Cairngorm

The garden is being battered! It's 7 C at present with light rain blowing around. I won't be going up the hill this morning 😆

There was also some overnight rain which cleared away for a short period of time this morning but this morning has started off on a dull and overcast note and as I write, the rain has also returned once again, so it's not exactly a nice day for being about and about with this of course, being in complete contrast to the predominately dry and high pressure dominated pattern of weather which we experienced at around this time last year, and which led to us experiencing our sunniest spring on record.

However, it is also mild (since it's no longer winter, I'm no longer bothered about that although it feels more like autumn just now, rather than spring) with a temperature of around 9°C here in Edinburgh.

Gusting to 52 mph now with lashing rain

The squall on the cold front is becoming more organised over Northern Ireland and SW Scotland

Highest wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank now up to around 47 mph from the SSW.

Today is also turning out to be a complete write-off of a day here as the front appears to have stalled somewhat and it's still absolutely chucking it down here as I write.

In addition to that though, there has now been a sharp drop in the temperature to around 7°C here in Edinburgh, so I wouldn't be surprised if at least a little bit of that rain eventually turns to sleet or wet snow on the Pentland Hills on the back edge of this weather front as it eventually clears away.

Yes down to 5 C here now John. Back edge snow possible soon above 300m and wintry showers overnight. The Pentlands could be white again by morning. Same as the surprise snowfall up there last Friday

Very windy here - gusty Force 8ish - blowing-over weather. But surprisingly warm - 12°C. And dry.

Nasty day; wet and windy with the wind gusting into the 40s mph. 13°C currently, but it's fairly irrelevant on a day like today.

Nasty weather outside at the moment, well to be honest it's been crap all day, plenty of driving rain and strong winds. The strongest gust so far today in our pretty much sheltered garden was 38mph a record for us. Temperature outside at the mo is 11c but feels chilly in the strong wind, all in all rubbish, that's putting it very mildly.
