Woke up to a beautiful clear blue sky this morning, now though beginning to cloud over but nice to see something other than grey, damp crud and persistent rain.

We've a light SSE breeze this morning that doesn't feel too bad although the temps are at 5.3c and DP 4c, pressure 989mb.

Rain from the last storm totaled 24mm.

Strange thing this morning hundreds of seagulls all heading east which is normally a sign of easterly storms heading this way, not that anything indicates that weather wise.

Our 6th day of total dystopian gloom here but it's dry at least. Chilly East wind and 6.2 C

A 2.5 C temperature range for those 6 days (4 - 6.5 C)

Dull and damp, also feeling quite cold and clammy at 5.7 C & mid-90% H but winds are lighter even though still onshore SE. A comedown on yesterday's beautiful sunshine.
Home location: Folkestone Harbour.

Happy Burns Night everyone

Here in Edinburgh, our permacast hell and frost-free horror show goes on with virtually nothing interesting happening here as per usual, in terms of any actual weather.

Currently around 6°C here in Edinburgh which isn't even the least bit cold for this time of the year and there has barely been any significant diurnal temperature range either.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Back to dark and cold here today. 6.6C, little wind, but thick cloud and a damp feel to the air.  Dreadful. It's one thing not getting any snow lying for years but the dreadful miserable weather that has replaced it is no use for anything.

4.2C here, and still raining, as it pretty much has been since Tuesday.

Flooding is already an issue. Dread to think what things will be like by the end of next week.

First cooler Easterly 2.2 C here, drizzle here. Wintriness round about as per radar? I can see why after viewing the Fax 18z Analysis.

2.1c with drizzle.

1.7c yesterday evening was as cold as it got, must have been the extent of the cold air from the East.

Last night was slightly cooler than recent nights with an overnight minimum temperature of 2.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank but that wasn't enough to give us even as much as a ground frost and so, our frost free horror show goes on.😡

There is still a lot of cloud around this morning but unlike on other recent mornings, there are some breaks in that cloud and so I'm hopeful that we might at least see a little bit of sunshine during today.

Currently around 3°C here in Edinburgh which is still not all that cold for this time of the year.😡

As I write, a very strange bright object has now appeared in the sky which according to my research, is known as the Sun and given just how dull and gloomy other recent days have been, I could probably have been excused for forgetting what that actually looked like.

Bins out for tomorrow. Amber warning for rain and looking at Brians radar, it's not too far away in the Channel.

It's been one of those very dull days here, the sort where you really need the lights on at 3, even though the sun doesn't set for another hour and a half! It's been misty, too, but generally calm - all change tomorrow, of course, and as it's bin day I expect there'll be some bins being blown over during the day (they come at 7 AM here, but there are lots of bins left out until the evening).

GFS had 3C here at 4PM, MetO had 5C, the reality is 5.4 - and the high today was 5.9, which makes it a cold day for once.

Definitely colder than forecast here.

1.0c and damp

1C at Leeds/Bradford

0.9c at Bingley and Emley. 0.4c at Pateley Bridge.

Sure it will rise to 2-3c as forecast when the rain arrives though!
